2012 Acura TSX Review

by Auto Design on August 8, 2011

The newly released 2012 Acura TSX is a midsized luxury sedan that offers the perfect balance of sleek design and practicality. It is ideal for those who appreciate an athletic, aggressive yet smooth ride from their cars. The TSX version was initially redesigned in 2009 and this new version takes the design further with a generous offering of high tech features like cruise control, automatic climate control and a trip computer. The front end has a sleek grille with Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights and a more aggressive lower fascia.

The 2.4-liter dohc engine puts out an impressive 200 horsepower at 6800 RPM. It can generate 166 pound-feet of torque at 4500 RPM. With the 6-speed manual transmission, you get 4500 miles out of one gallon of fuel on the open roads and 21 miles on the city.

This premium sedan goes around curves and over bumpy roads with ease because of the electronic brake force distribution system. The Acura should be credited for the great suspension and the effective use of the all-season 17 inch tyres that absorb the roads imperfections well.

Besides the great fuel efficiency, the safety features have been ramped up to include front and side impact airbags, electronic brake force distribution and a remote anti-theft system. There aren’t a lot of cars that have trunk anti-trap device or a HomeLink universal garage door opener. With the price of gas going up these days, motorists will appreciate the fuel efficiency that the TSX offers. The legroom is a bit of a disappointment as there isn’t enough legroom. It gets a bit cramped. The only way you can increase the foot space is if you raise the front seats a bit higher and you can still change the angles of the seats.

Motorists spend most of their time inside the car and will appreciate a nice ambiance. The interior is mainly made of plastic and nicely textured trimmings that give it more of a clean minimalistic look. All TSX models have a center-mounted dashboard and the controls are well spaced. The multimedia control system array can be bewildering and the incorporation of a voice recognition system helps.

As a luxury car, it stacks up with the very best cars available on the market. It is spacious, with upholstered seats that can seat 5. The Acura TSX is a robust car built for power speed and can tow as much as 13 cu. ft. of load. The TSX 2012 edition comes with a standard 4 year warranty and retails at $29,560. If its comfort you need and you appreciate a great design and super efficiency in a car, this might just be the car for you.
