The Acura TL saw its debut in 1995 as a replacement of the older Acura Vigor. A medium-sized deluxe sedan, it sported a frontal wheel drive available in either a 5 cylinder engine with a 2.5 liter capacity or a 6 cylinder engine with a 3.2 liter volume. Both engines were available for all Acura TL reproductions until 1999 when the company decided to retain the more popular 3.2 liter engine in their cars. Indeed, the 1999 Acura TL was designed to be larger, smoother and sleeker than the older versions. However, it was only in 2004 that a complete revamp of Acura TL was initiated. The 2004 TL had a newly defined chassis and it was given a 270hp 3.2 liter V6 engine. Acura even incorporated wireless Bluetooth technology in the 2004 model. Over the years, Acura TL has strived to improve itself to satisfy the growing range of customers. Now, hopeful buyers can also look forward to the Acura TL’s new design for year 2012.
The first thing one would notice in the new Acura TL would most likely be the innovated exterior design. Many of the old models’ customers seem to dislike the general look of the vehicle so for the 2012 model, Acura engineers decided to adopt better taillights, a more slender rear trunk, smaller back reflectors and even repositioned the license plates’ opening. They also added a new twist to the wheels with the center cap design.
Next year’s Acura TL still offers the basic 24 valve 3.2 liter single overhead camshaft V6 engine which appeals much to drivers with a need for speed. The engine offers 270hp at 6200 revolutions per minute as well as a torque value of 238 lb-ft at 5000 revolutions per minute. This incredible engine also makes use of a 6-speed standard transmission system which allows for incredible fuel savings. With the 2012 TL, one uses up 20mpg when considering traffic within the city and about 30mpg while driving on the highways.
For the 2012 Acura TL, buyers are given a chance to choose between the all-wheel-drive and a frontal wheel drive vehicle. Some of the feature installments on the up and coming Acura TL would include a steering wheel with tilt and even telescoping capabilities. Remote keyless entry, automatic climate management and a navigation system complete with voice recognition software comprise some of the characteristics of the 2012 Acura TL. It also has entertainment for passengers like a DVD-Audio stereo equipped with eight speakers, a DTS and even a 6 disk CD changer.
The interior of the vehicle features an assortment of safety measures including dual airbags in front, side-impact airbags supported on the front seats as well as curtain airbags on the front and back of the vehicle. It also provides features to help with traction, braking, and stability.
Assembled in the town of Marysville in Ohio, the vehicle has a four-year warranty equivalent to about fifty thousand miles. According to the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), the new Acura TL can cost a minimum of $36,000. This price may be raised depending on any additional features the buyer may want to include.
